The Cognitive Systems Engineering Principles Behind the CoReason Platform
The Tripartite Cybernetic Manifold (OEP)¶
The CoReason architecture is organized into three coupled layers — the Ontology-Execution-Projection Manifold — each bounded by strict mathematical and thermodynamic constraints.
I. Ontology Layer — coreason-manifest¶
The Epistemic Boundary. Defines the formal JSON Schemas and Abstract Syntax Trees (AST) that constrain all Swarm reasoning. No agent may operate outside the ontological envelope defined by the manifest.
II. Execution Layer — coreason-runtime¶
The Thermodynamic Engine. Hosts the Extism WebAssembly (WASM) sandbox that executes Swarm capabilities within cryptographically sealed memory boundaries. Enforces energy budgets and halting guarantees.
III. Governance Layer — coreason-ecosystem¶
The Macro-Orchestrator. Provides the exterior scaffolding for deploying, distributing, documenting, and monitoring the Swarm at enterprise scale. Operates strictly on the exterior — never modifying internal Swarm reasoning.
IV. Projection Layer — coreason-vscode¶
The Sensory Markov Blanket. The Visual IDE interface through which human Topologists observe and interact with the Swarm's epistemic state.
Core Principles¶
- The Principle of Non-Interference — The Governance Layer must never penetrate the Execution Layer's thermodynamic boundary.
- Epistemic Documentation — All documentation is a mathematical derivative of the codebase, never a manual transcription.
- Cryptographic Supply Chain — All WASM capabilities are treated as untrusted physical matter until cryptographically verified.
- Infrastructure Bounding — All deployment topologies target isolated, secure virtualization.
